Icarus, Falling of Birds
Thank you to everyone who came out to our three performances of Icarus, Falling of Birds! We had 400 people come out to experience the shows at York Redoubt in Halifax and at Ross Creek Centre for the Performing Arts in Canning. The winds from Hurricane Erin heightened the experience at York Redoubt and the smoke clouds and raining ash from the Long Lake fires in Canning made for a somber performance. A big thank you to Harry Thurston and Thaddeus Holownia for trusting us with their work, to our wonderfully helpful volunteers, to our fabulous performers and designers, and to Ken Schwartz and Chris O’Neill of Ross Creek for being so welcoming.

Gale Force Theatre Young Company
Gale Force Theatre is offering its first year long teen theatre creation program starting October 1st! This is a FREE program for teenagers ages 14-18 who are interested in collectively creating a show on environmental themes that will be toured to schools in the HRM. This is a unique opportunity for young artists to train with Gale Force Theatre’s Lily Falk and Franziska Glen in collective creation and to build an original show. This program is in partnership with the Adventure Earth Centre and is offered at Shubie Park.

Lupinder’s Tent goes to PEI!

Lupinder and Ms Grismunda are heading to New Glasgow, PEI, on Sunday, October 5th, to join our good friends at River Clyde Arts with the 2025 Sharing the Field festival! Lupinder’s Tent will be one of the many wonderful offerings for children and their families at this year’s event.
Step inside Lupinder’s Tent, an interactive performance for kids ages 5-10, where lost things have stories, but these stories are never truly lost. With the help of tabletop puppets, Lupinder’s Tent is a tender and imaginative celebration of connection, care, and the curious journey of lost things trying to find their way home.
Lupinder’s Tent will be open from 2-5pm and will welcome all those that are seeking something lost or anyone who would like to meet a rascally muskrat and an elegant frog.
